I would like to share a little bit of the exciting happenings and performance activity this spring. I have recently been given the opportunity to sing in several wonderful galas held by the Maryland Lyric Opera Company to promote their premier performance of Cavalleria Rusticana and I Pagliacci this summer. If you can make it out to one I am sure you will be impressed by the wonderful music and obvious love of pure opera that drives the vision of the directors. I will be singing Nedda with Maryland Lyric on July 20th and 26th. Check out their website at http://www.marylandlyricopera.org/.
I also sang a recent concert at the Bulgarian Embassy which included a scene from La Traviata and a duet from Verdi's Il Trovatore with the wonderful baritone Norman Garrett of the Washington National Opera. We will be doing a reprise in a performance this weekend with the Partners for the Arts Anniversary Concert, More information can be found on their website http://partners4thearts.org/.
Finally I will mention a wonderful opportunity I was given to sing at Carnegie Hall several weekends ago in the finals of New York Lyric Opera Company's National Voice Competition. I met several wonderful artists and placed third. For details on the competition you can look here http://www.newyorklyricopera.org/season.html#2014Winners.
